Unit EQ: Why should you use computers responsibly?
LEQ: How do you cite web resources?
Activating Strategies:
Have students complete the sentence: "After I use information from the Internet in a report , I must...",
prompting them to realize that they need to create a bibliography to site their information.
Acceleration/Previewing/Vocabulary:
Sources, bibliography, Summarizing, Paraphrasing, Quoting, Citation
Teaching Strategies and Distributed Guided Practice/Summarizing Prompts:
  1. Students should go to http://www.openc.k12.or.us/citeintro/secondary/ and record the answers to these questions:

  3. What is the difference between Quoting, Paraphrasing, and Summarizing

Have students visit the "Citation Practice" http://21cif.imsa.edu/rkitp/challenge/v1n8/citation.swf site (links saved on Moodle Page) to learn a little about gathering information from websites. They only do WormHoles article.

Then students should do Healthy Soday Challenge:
When they're finished, students should take the "Citation Challenge" http://21cif.imsa.edu/rkitp/assessment/v1n8/citation_online_assessment.swf and try to achieve a 100%. They will have to visit the Healthy soda challenge, fill in the blanks and move past the second challenge to see their score.
Copies of the correct answers are in the folder on the shared drive.

This will likely take more than one day.
